The Photographer

Photography became part of my life very early on.  You see, my parents dabbled in all manner of hobbies  from  home distillation  to small aircraft piloting . (No, not at the same time!) My father installed a complete dark room in one of the spare bedrooms in our house for my mom.  I took to it mostly because it did not incite motion sickness and required little in the way of fine motor skills, which I am still woefully lacking. I practiced throughout high school but got sidetracked in college by all of the……ahem……distractions it provides.

I became intrigued again after my kids were born and the digital revolution took hold of the craft. I was disillusioned by the chain store mentality of making memories an easily reproducible commodity.  I wanted more from photography.

And more than any of that I love kids. In addition to this lovely little business, I’m also the office manager of a preschool. I am delighted daily with the antics and interests of growing little minds . In both the preschool  and in photography, I am passionate about the development  of a child’s self image and hope that each photo I take reminds them how precious and unique they are.

I am silly, sometimes loud and always willing to play along. I love music and  books, rainbow sherbet and pizza. I am wife to a loving husband, mom to two amazing boys, a dog, four chickens, eight fish and a gecko named Liz.

I look forward to working with you and your family.
